The corner style you choose sets the character of the whole tag. Square corners come as standard, rounded corners soften the look, and 45 degree angle corners (also known as luggage corners) give the traditional swing tag silhouette.

Choosing your corner style

Square corners come as standard on rectangle and square tags at no extra cost. Rounded corners are available in a 2mm or 7mm radius, and angle corners - also called luggage, angled, or shoulder corners - are die-cut at 45 degrees for the traditional swing tag look. Rounded and angle corners carry a small additional charge, shown in the calculator as you build your order. One tip: on our waterproof and frosted synthetic materials, rounded corners are a worthwhile upgrade, softening the firmer edge these rigid materials can have so the tag feels as good as it looks.

Which corners suit which shapes

Rectangle tags take all three styles: square, rounded, or angle. Square tags take square or rounded corners; we recommend rounded over angle corners on squares, as angle corners work best on rectangles, where the longer edge gives the shoulders room to frame the design. Round and oval tags have no corners by nature, so cornering does not apply, and their smooth die-cut edge needs no finishing.

Die-cut, never laser-cut

Every cornered tag is cut with our high quality die-cutting process, which delivers crisp, clean edges time after time. We never laser-cut swing tags: laser cutting can leave an unsightly burnt tinge around the cut edge, which is not the professional finish your brand deserves.

Setting up your artwork

If you're supplying artwork for angle corners, a good rule of thumb is to set the corner angles to 45 degrees. Don't worry about getting it perfect: every order receives a PDF proof before printing, so we'll confirm the corner set-up with you before anything is cut.

Combining corners with other finishes

Corners combine freely with our other finishing options: add a metal eyelet, choose a string, or do both. On rectangle and square tags with square or rounded corners, the drill hole can sit top left, top centre (the most popular position), or top right. If you choose angle corners, the drill hole sits top centre, as the angled cut removes the top corners of the tag.

Can I combine corners with eyelets and strings?

Yes. Corners, eyelets, and strings can all be combined on the same tag, so you can pair rounded corners with a silver eyelet and cotton twine, for example, all in one order. Just note that with angle corners the drill hole (and any eyelet) sits top centre.

How are the corners cut?
