Choosing your string

There are 11 string options across three families. Braided nylon is a smooth 1mm string available in six colours - white, grey, black, orange, red, and pink - the go-to choice for a clean, contemporary look. Natural cotton twine is a soft 1.5mm string with a natural off-white finish, and jute twine is a 2mm rustic string with a visible fibre texture. Snap-lock strings complete the range with white, black, and jute options.

Attached or supplied individually

Every string option can be attached to your tags before dispatch, so they arrive ready to hang, or supplied individually in cut 10-inch lengths for you to thread yourself. Supplied individually is the most cost-effective choice; attached saves time at the packing bench. Select Attached or Supplied Individually under String Supply in the calculator when you build your order.

Snap and lock strings

Snap-lock strings are the fastest way to attach a tag to a product. Each 7-inch length has a plastic connector at both ends: loop it through the drill hole and around the product, click the ends together, and it stays put. Available with white or black 1mm string, or 1.5mm jute twine for a more natural look.

Matching strings to materials

Natural cotton twine and jute twine are the classic pairing for Brown Kraft and Recycled boards, suiting artisan food and drink, candles, and eco-conscious ranges. Braided nylon suits contemporary retail and fashion, with six colours to match or contrast your design. White braided string is a clean all-rounder that works with every material, from Standard Silk to Foiled and Waterproof.

Strings, drill holes and eyelets

All standard shapes come with a 3mm drill hole as standard, which suits every string option. For tags that will be handled repeatedly, a metal eyelet in black, gold, or silver reinforces the hole and stops tearing. If you plan to attach tags with a Kimble gun and nylon fastener instead of string, a 3mm or 4mm drill hole stops the fastener pulling through.

Can I buy strings separately?

Yes. Any of the 11 string options can be supplied individually in cut 10-inch lengths, ready for you to attach yourself. It's the most cost-effective way to order - select Supplied Individually in the calculator.

What string colours are available?

Braided nylon comes in white, grey, black, orange, red, and pink. Cotton twine is a natural off-white and jute twine is a natural brown. Snap-lock strings come in white, black, or jute.

How long are the strings?

Individually supplied strings are cut to 10-inch lengths. Snap-lock strings are 7 inches long with a plastic connector at each end.

Can you attach the strings for me?

Yes. Select Attached under String Supply in the calculator and your tags arrive strung and ready to hang, saving time at the packing bench and on the shop floor.

What is a snap-lock string?

A snap-lock string has a plastic connector at both ends of a 7-inch length. Loop it through the tag's drill hole and around the product, click the ends together, and the tag is secured - no tying required.

Which string suits kraft or recycled tags?

Natural cotton twine and jute twine are the classic choices for Brown Kraft and Recycled boards, giving artisan and eco-conscious ranges a fully natural look. Braided nylon also works well where you want a colour accent against a natural board.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The minimum order quantity is 25 tags, strung or supplied individually, with quantities running from 25 up to 10,000+.
