Bottle Neck Tags

From £0.12 per tag

Bottle neck tags are custom printed hang tags designed to slip over the neck of a bottle, adding branding, information, or seasonal messaging without touching the main label. Available in 10 styles and 10 materials, these bottle neck hang tags work across wine bottles, artisan gins, premium ciders, craft ales, culinary oils, and sauces - giving producers a flexible way to communicate directly with the customer at the point of sale. With a minimum order of just 25, these are some of the most versatile swing tags in the Handy Tags range.

Choosing your bottle neck tag style

There are 10 styles available, each custom die-cut to shape. Styles A-H are the standard range of neck hangers, all designed with a 38mm neck hole and horizontally creased for easy application over the bottle neck. Style J is designed for bottles stored horizontally in a wine rack, with a smaller 32mm neck hole and compact 53x95mm dimensions that sit neatly when the bottle is on its side. Style K is a conical collar at 207x92mm, wrapping around the neck rather than hanging from it - suited to luxury spirits and premium gifting where a distinctive presentation is the priority. Select your style in the calculator to view full dimensions and download the artwork template.

Style guide and dimensions

Style A: 68x130mm - rounded arch top, rectangular body. Style B: 60x130mm - rectangular with ribbon-shaped bottom. Style C: 64x130mm - square body with luggage corners at the top. Style D: 64x130mm - circular neck hole with a round body. Style E: 75x220mm - tall full-length rectangle. Style F: 68x220mm - tall with a ribbon-shaped bottom. Style G: 75x220mm - a distinctive combined shape where a tall rectangle flows into a circle and back out again, creating a natural focal point in the round section for a logo, roundel, or promotional offer. Style H: 70x250mm - the largest style; a two-panel design with a horizontal crease that allows the bottom panel to fold up and over into the top panel, creating a double-thickness sleeve effect for maximum advertising and information space. Style J: 53x95mm, 32mm neck hole - compact tag for horizontal wine rack storage. Style K: 207x92mm - conical collar wrapping the bottle neck.

Choosing the right material for your bottle

10 materials are available for bottle neck tags: Standard silk, Brown Kraft, Textured, Recycled, Grey Pulpboard, Laminated, Foiled, Metallic, Neon, and Colour Board. Waterproof polyester film and Frosted are not available in bottle neck format - both materials are not sufficiently flexible to withstand the horizontal crease required for neck tag application. For bottles stored in a wine fridge, refrigerator, or chilled display, laminated tags in either gloss or matt finish are the recommended choice - the laminate coating resists moisture effectively and will not degrade in chilled environments, though they are not designed to be submerged in water. Standard silk suits most room-temperature retail and gifting applications. For eco-conscious drinks brands, recycled board or brown kraft complements a natural, sustainable positioning. For premium spirits and luxury gifting, metallic or foiled options add instant prestige.

How to get the best print results

Bottle neck tags are printed using full-colour CMYK or white ink on your chosen material. Supply artwork at a minimum resolution of 300dpi at the final print size. Download the artwork template for your chosen style using the Download Template button in the calculator. Each style has a unique shape, crease position, and neck hole placement that must be accounted for in the artwork. For Style G, design with the round section in mind as a natural focal area for a logo or roundel. For Style H, the crease line divides the two panels - design each panel to work independently and together as a folded sleeve. Keep body copy at 8pt or above, and keep critical content clear of the neck hole and any crease or cut lines.

Single-sided vs double-sided printing

Most bottle neck tags are ordered double-sided. The front typically carries brand identity, while the reverse carries tasting notes, a recipe, serving suggestions, a QR code, or a promotional offer. Style H is particularly well suited to double-sided printing - with four printable panels once folded, it offers the most advertising and information space of any style in the range. For Style K conical collars, the outer face is the primary design surface.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 10 bottle neck styles?

Styles A-H are all standard neck hangers with a 38mm neck hole, varying in shape and size. Compact styles A, B, C, and D are 130mm tall and suit most standard wine and spirit bottles. Taller styles E, F, G, and H run from 220mm to 250mm and cover more of the bottle body. Style G combines a rectangle and circle into a single distinctive shape, creating a natural focal point for brand logos and roundels. Style H is a two-panel folded sleeve - the largest and highest-capacity style in the range. Style J has a smaller 32mm neck hole for horizontal storage in a wine rack. Style K is a conical collar. Open the calculator, select any style, and use the Download Template button to see the exact shape and dimensions.

Which material is best for chilled or refrigerated bottles?

Laminated tags - in either gloss or matt finish - are the recommended choice for bottles stored in a wine fridge, refrigerator, or chilled display. The laminate coating on both sides resists moisture and will not soften or degrade in chilled environments. Note that laminated tags are not designed to be submerged in water or used in ice buckets for extended periods. Waterproof polyester film and frosted film are not available in bottle neck format, as both materials are not flexible enough to withstand the horizontal crease required for neck tag production.

Can I use bottle neck tags for wedding favours?

Yes. Personalised bottle neck tags are a popular choice for wedding favours, particularly on miniature wine, prosecco, or gin bottles. They can carry the couple's names, the wedding date, a personal message, or a QR code. Foiled tags in gold or silver are particularly popular for weddings. With a minimum order of just 25 tags, they are practical for both intimate gatherings and larger events.
